Project Graduation Parties and Post Prom Events
Six Questions To Make Your Graduation
Planning Task Easier and to Ask Before Hiring a Stage Hypnotist For Your Party
This article will make
the process of securing a safe, suitable stage hypnotist for your event easier.
It was written by request from graduation party organizers. Consider passing
this article on to future grad party or post prom committees and including it
in your project graduation party idea file.
Regardless of whether you plan the party
yourself or you secure an event planning company to plan the party, you should
ask the following six important questions.
A reputable Stage Hypnotist and Event Planning
Company will appreciate your questions, and you will be more relaxed knowing
you are securing the services of a professional.
You will be insuring
the success of your graduation hypnosis show, and your students will have a fun
night they will remember for years.
The Six Questions You Should Ask
1) Is the Hypnotic Show performed by a full-time professional Hypnotist?
You want a performer that is knowledgeable, experienced, and reputable enough
to earn a living at his craft. There are plenty of DJs, magicians, and
ex-comedians who have taken a weekend hypnosis course and decided to “give
hypnosis shows a try.” They have neither the knowledge nor the stage experience
to deliver a show that is both safe and highly entertaining. When it comes to
your kids, make sure you get a full-time professional.
2) Can you verify the hypnotist is insured for the stage?
The professional stage hypnotist will be insured with a liability policy.
Request a copy to confirm the policy is not expired. An amateur will typically
not make the investment to protect themselves, you, or the students.
We have never had any accidents that have required medical attention, but if we
ever do, you can rest assured that we have the insurance coverage for you and
your students’ protection. To perform without insurance is dangerous,
irresponsible, and is the equivalent to sitting on a ticking time bomb.
3) If your event is school related, does the hypnotist have a clear
understanding of the liability-oriented mindset that school administrators must
consider?
Brian holds a Maryland State Department of Education endorsement as an
Assistant Principal. As such, he is acutely aware of the safety and liability
needs that administrators are always watching out for so that they may have a
successful, stress-free event.
4) Has your hypnotist been professionally trained?
Ask the hypnotist to provide proof that they are a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists- the world’s
largest and most reputable hypnosis association founded in 1951. Membership
indicates that the hypnotist has been certified by a school that is endorsed by
the association. Your stage hypnotist should be certified and have at least 250
hours of hypnosis training.
5) Is your hypnotist Board Certified (BCH)?
What does this mean? There are
approximately 10,000 members in the National Guild of Hypnotists, which only
about 200 have passed a rigorous evaluation process to become Board Certified.
If your hypnotist is Board Certified, they are one of the few hypnotists in the
top 2% of the profession.
6) Is your
hypnotist a Certified Instructor (CI)?
If your hypnotist is a Certified Instructor for the
National Guild of Hypnotists, then he or she is the hypnotist's hypnotist, the
go-to person for all other hypnotists. Don't settle for anything but the best.
A bad hypnosis show will leave your kids
bored, unsatisfied, and eventually walking out of the show and can bring your
whole grad party down! That is certainly not the event entertainment of which
memories are made.

Determine the Level of Professionalism
Answering these six questions will help you
plan an event that is safe and fun. You will be more relaxed the night of the
program and the months leading up to the program knowing you are hiring a
professional stage hypnotist your grads will enjoy! If you find the stage
hypnotist is deficient in any of these areas, it is a sure sign they may not be
a true professional and there may be cause for concern.
Working with an Event Planning Company?
If you are working
with a graduation party planning company and they are recommending a project
graduation or post prom hypnotist that does not live up to the above four
questions, ask yourself:
· Are they trying to provide the least expensive
entertainer (amateur, no credentials, no insurance policy, etc.) because of
some benefit to the event planning company?
· Do they make more money hiring a “cheap”
hypnotist for your graduation party and pocketing a higher than ethical amount
of the fee you are investing?
· Are you receiving a stage hypnotist who will
not live up to your entertainment expectations?
· Are you satisfied with a stage hypnotist who
is not going to be as reliable or as experienced as you would like?
If not, request
another hypnotist. There are many stage hypnotists who are professionals, and
you don’t need to be settling for anything less for yourgraduation party
entertainment.
Booking Your Project
Graduation Stage Hypnotist Direct
If you are booking
your stage hypnotist direct and he or she fails to positively answer the four
requirements, ask yourself, is this hypnotist a “semi pro” hypnotist? In other
words, an amateur hypnotist with a full-time career in another area, that comes
out only during the project graduation season to make extra money? Do you want
to settle for a part time performer with little experience and no professional
status, insurance, certification, proper training, etc.? Don’t risk the
embarrassment of bringing an unqualified project graduation hypnotist to your
event. An experienced professional will be the highlight of your event and
become the most anticipated part of project graduation or post prom every year
thereafter.
A Good Match for Your Graduation Party Entertainment
By following these
steps you can secure a graduation party hypnotist that you can be satisfied
with. You will know their skill level and receive fair value for the fee
charged. In addition, if the stage hypnotist is lacking in any area such as
insurance, education, or experience, you will know what potential risks you are
open to and the problems that may occur.
Good luck on the planning process! I’m sure it will be a wonderful party, and
if the hypnotist is a professional and has answered the above four questions in
the affirmative, you will have a great, safe, memorable show and few worries!

I suppose I should quickly introduce myself. This is not to brag about my
accomplishments, but simply for you to get to know a little about me.
First, I’m a full time professional board certified hypnotist and instructor.
I’ve done hundreds of shows and I use a lot of music and sound effects for production
value and the kid’s enjoyment.
I’ve logged well over a thousand clinical one-on-one hypnosis sessions in my
private office in Glen Burnie, MD and have additional advanced certifications
in pediatric and forensic hypnosis. Over the years I’ve enjoyed helping people
of all ages use hypnosis to achieve real goals such as weight loss, stress
management, and the elimination of fears and phobias. While some stage
hypnotists claim to be Certified Hypnotists, most are “winging it” with very
little depth to their hypnosis training.
I have authored several hypnosis audio CDs
designed to help people achieve their goals. The titles range from Lose Weight and Feel Great! to Unlimited Confidence. I’m frequently
asked by the media to do interviews as an expert on hypnosis for topics ranging
from entertainment to using hypnosis for weight loss. I was featured on national television and radio programs, including ABC News and the Lynn Johnson Motivational Radio Show.

easier, and that your graduation party or post prom is a positive and memorable
event!
